My Story
Let me share a bit about my journey with self-portrait photography. Ever since middle school, being in front of the camera has been a form of self-help for me. Sometimes I joke with myself, wondering if there’s a secret supermodel within me (spoiler alert: probably not).
But growing up, getting the perfect shot was a real struggle. Even with friends offering to snap pictures, they just never seemed to get it right. I would end up nitpicking and feeling like the photos missed the mark on capturing the real me, the emotions, and the identity I wanted to convey.
The Birth of an Artist
Figuring out who was better to capture my thoughts, feelings, and ideas than me, I decided to take matters into my own hands. That’s when I decided to dive into learning everything I could about photography. And you know what? My curiosity and love for technology made the journey a whole lot easier.
I didn’t need fancy gear to start; I just went for it, trying out new things and finding creative solutions along the way. Looking back, I’m grateful for the self-motivation and confidence I had as a teen. Teaching myself photography? Life-changing, no doubt. It opened up a whole new world of artistic expression for me. The opportunities that have come with this journey have been endless and overwhelming at times, but that is exactly what I signed up for.
Sure, I’m still honing my craft, but one thing’s for sure: I’m a true artist at heart. And now, I don’t have to wait for anyone else to bring my ideas to life; I’ve got the skills and the vision to do it all myself.
